| WILL OF GRANVILLE B. SHANNON
In the name of God, Amen. I Granville B. Shannon, of Vineyard Township of the County of
Washington and the State of Arkansas, being of sound mind and memory considering the
uncertainty of this frail and transitory life do therefore make, ordain, publish and
declare this to be my last will and testament. That is to say,
First, after all my lawful debts are paid and discharged, the residue of my estate real
and personal, I give, bequeath and dispose of as follows, to wit: to my beloved wife Unity
Shannon my farm with all the appurtenances belonging or pertaining thereto known as the
John Latta Seign farm being situated in Vineyard Township Washington County, Arkansas,
together with all my personal effects during her natural life time. At her death the
residue of my personal and real estate to be equally divided between Alexander M. Shannon,
Mark D. Shannon, Moris K. Shannon, and Finas M. Shannon my lawful sons, my other heirs
having received their patrimony.
Likewise I make, constitute and appoint my wife Unity Shannon Executrix to be Executor
of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me made.
In witness whereof have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal the tenth day
of June in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and Seventy one.

The above written instrument was subscribed by the said Granville B. Shannon in our
presence and acknowledged by him to each of us, and he at the same time published and
declared the above instrument so subscribed to be his last will and testament, and we at
the testators request and in his presence have signed our names as witnesses thereto
and written opposite our names our respective places of residence.

Be it remembered that on the 17th day of April 1873 personally came before
me, P. R. Smith, as Clerk of the County Court and Ex Officio Clerk of the Court of Probate
in and for said County of Washington, T. H. Addison one of the subscribing witnesses to
the annexed and foregoing instrument of writing purporting to be the last will and
testament of G. B. Shannon deceased and being first duly sworn according to law deposeth
and sayeth that he signed his name at the end of the above and foregoing instrument of
writing purporting to be the last will and testament of G. B. Shannon deceased at the
request of the said G. B. Shannon and at the same time the said G. B Shannon signed his
own name to said instrument of writing in my presence and in the presence of J. C. Powell
the other subscribing witness and at the time the said G. B. Shannon signed said
instrument he declared the same to be his last will and testament and that we as witnesses
signed said will in the presence of each other and in the presence of said G B. Shannon
and at the time the said G. B. Shannon signed said instrument and declared the same to be
his last will and testament, he was of sound and disposing mind and memory. T. H. Addison

Be it remembered that on this 5th day of May 1875 personally appeared before
me, Presley R. Smith Clerk of the Probate County with and for the County aforesaid, Finas
M. Shannon and Maurice K. Shannon who first being duly sworn according to law deposeth and
sayeth that they are acquainted with the writing of G. B. Shannon whose name appears as
testator in the annexed and foregoing will or instrument purporting to be the will of G.
B. Shannon deceased and that they know the signature to be in the had writing of said G.
B. Shannon. And that they are acquainted with the handwriting of the said J. C. Powell
whose name appears in said instrument as a subscribing witness to the same, that they know
the same to be in his hand writing and they have heard him admit the same to be his
handwriting and signature.
That said Powell has since the time of signing the same been by the Circuit Court of
said County declared a lunatic and has been a lunatic and has not entirely recovered from
said lunacy.
